Staying Centered in
a Noisy World
Hi !
It's been over a year and a half since I moved to Costa Rica from the U.S..
Being immersed in so much beautiful nature really does something to your overall well-being.
The ocean, rivers, trees and of course the animals each have their own vibration and frequency, which affects everyone and everything.
One of the more popular beings around is the sloth.
While I have seen several since moving here, I have never located one myself.
However, I believe myself to be a resourceful person and realize the best way (at least for me) to find a sloth is to look for a group of people (especially tourists) looking up at a tree and pointing.
This method is a metaphor for an aspect of life.
People point at something and want to show others what they are seeing.
Those people come over, look, point, and others observe them, and the process keeps going.
In the case of finding a sloth, most people come away from the experience with a smile on their face.
There are of course other times when people point at things that are not so pleasant.
It can be difficult to look at those things and not get emotionally wrapped up in what is happening.
Please know this newsletter is in no way pushing you or anyone to only look at what is enjoyable and ignore what is not.
It is a reminder that you always have the choice in how much mental and emotional energy you put into anything.
It is possible to simply observe what is going on neutrally.
It is possible to protest, to post on social media, or try to convince others to see a different point of view.
No matter what you choose, I encourage you to recharge your energetic battery in healthy ways, such as:
Meditation
Consuming healthy foods & drinks
Getting regular and adequate exercise
Having good sleep hygiene
It is possible to be aware of the chaos in the world, support others, and to take care of
yourself.
Like spotting a sloth high in the trees, much of life is about where you place your attention.
When you stay grounded in yourself, you can witness what’s unfolding around you without losing your center.
