More drills won't build their heart.
Your relationship will.
Hi !
When I asked dozens of my guests in my podcast, Clarity for Parents of Athletes, what made the biggest difference in their journey, the answer wasn’t more practice
or adding private lessons
or pressure they felt from their parents.
It was this:
“When a child falls in love
with their sport on their own, that love will carry them farther than any pressure ever could.”
That’s the secret every resilient athlete shares:
Their love for the game is theirs.
It’s personal.
It’s real.
And it’s what keeps them going when things get tough.
But here’s where it gets tricky for us as
parents:
In our effort to support them, we sometimes (without realizing it) put pressure where we meant to give love.
We try to stoke the fire for them—
instead of simply protecting the space for it to grow.
I personally witnessed parents who got in the way of their athlete really flourishing.
That’s why I created something new and important.
I’ll be sharing
more about it with you soon.
For now, just remember:
You don’t have to create their passion.
You only have to nurture the environment where it can flourish.
