You can run, but you can't hide
Hi !
Ah, the ego...your false self...
that part of you that's so afraid of appearing not good enough and not lovable enough.
It's the piece of you that whenever you feel under threat, it reacts in so many different ways in order to protect your image of yourself.
Ego does not just manifest as the arrogant type, which is ingrained in many people, including but not limited to- politicians, entertainers, and athletes.
It can show up as martyrdom, self-deprecation, stubbornness, self-destruction, greed, or impatience.
Here's a great
book that goes into more detail, written by one of my amazing teachers- click here.
Your ego is not going anywhere.
It is there for you to pull you into the lower range of feelings:
shame
guilt
fear
anger
desire
etc.
You can do whatever you think you can do to run away from it:
drink excessively
eat excessively
use electronics excessively
seek love and acceptance from others
deny
repress
project
bypass using spirituality
or
stay on the surface and avoid your deeper healing
You can run, but you can't hide.
The more you try, the more challenges you'll face in many aspects of your life, especially relationships and health.
Again, your ego is not going anywhere.
So you might as well make friends with it.
"What?!!", you might ask.
Yes, you might as well make friends with your ego.
Your ego is part of you and you were completely created in love, because that is what the universe is made of.
It also
is not part of you because it is just the result of your thinking and you are not your thinking.
But, your experience in life is made up of your thinking, which comes from your mind, so really it is you after all.
It's a weird conundrum, but that's not the point here for you.
How you can make your ego your best friend, and even ally, is to recognize when you're operating from
it.
It can be difficult sometimes to be completely honest with yourself, however, you can always tune into these to get a sense of if you're coming from ego:
Any negative thoughts about yourself and others
Experiencing the lower ranges of feelings
Your behaviors
Your decisions
Your Body- chronic pain, illness, your immune system
The people you're attracting into your life and spend
most of your energy on
When taking inventory, be careful not to judge yourself.
The best thing you can do when you're feeling those lower levels of thoughts and feelings is to ask your highest version of yourself...your essence, "What needs to be healed within me?"
You see, your ego can be your biggest ally in showing you what unresolved childhood or other unconscious issues need to be healed.
It is part of you for a purpose.
You are here right here, right now, to have a human experience...to experience the full range of emotions.
Of course, it's extremely important not to hang out in those lower ranges of feelings, but it's also equally important not to rush through them.
Feel them fully and allow them to move through you
without distracting yourself from your beliefs about yourself and others.
You likely will move through them, feeling you've done all the work, and find out there's still more processing that needs to happen...
and that's perfectly okay.
Again, your body, thoughts,
behaviors, and decisions will show you if there's more to work through.
Practice becoming conscious of your thoughts...
become aware of being aware.
That's the only way to open up your energy field and spend more time in the higher frequencies of joy
and love.
The collective consciousness of the world is at a period where deep healing needs to be done.
Some will step into courage to answer the call and some will not be able to.
If you're ready to join the ones who are doing "the work", then find yourself a great
practitioner to help you on your journey, because it's much easier to have a guide by your side.
Of course, I'm always here for you.
